Music Changing Lives Hosts Holiday Shopping Day

Music Changing Lives, in partnership with 100 Black Men of the Inland Empire (100 BMIE), San Gabriel Valley National Council of Negro Women (SGV-NCNW), the Changing Lives Association, and Mattel, delivered a groundbreaking moment with their Holiday Shopping Day at the Mattel Toy Store in San Bernardino. The event gave children aged 3 to 13 a $100 shopping spree, filling the season with smiles, excitement, and a sense of possibility.

“As a Black man and community leader, I know firsthand how vital it is for our children to see themselves represented—not only during the holidays but in every aspect of life,” said Josiah Bruny, President and CEO/ Founder of Music Changing Lives. “Today wasn’t just about toys. It was about reminding these kids that they matter, that their dreams matter, and that their community stands beside them. When we come together like this, we’re not just building holidays—we’re building futures.”

The event, part of Music Changing Lives’ 17th Annual #RandomActsOfKindness Toy Drive, highlights the power of partnership and the impact of collective generosity. The event not only provided children with holiday joy but also fostered a deeper sense of community and belonging. Music Changing Lives is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth through music, art, and education.

Through initiatives like this, Music Changing Lives continues to inspire, empower, and create narrative change for underserved families across the Inland Empire. The event success sets the stage for even greater impact next year, as the organization works to expand its reach and ensure that every child has a chance to experience moments of joy, hope, and representation.
