The Regalettes, a legacy organization in Los Angeles County known for its longstanding commitment to education, community service, and excellence is thrilled to announce their 65th-anniversary celebration, “A Royal Affair: 65 Years of Excellence.” The luncheon event will include conferring scholarships to college-age students and honoring five deserving individuals with Crown Awards.  It will be held on Sunday, November 19, from 12pm-4pm at the Skirball Cultural Center.

For six and a half decades, the Regalettes have been a pillar of strength in the community, fostering educational opportunities for underserved youth, providing over $1 million in scholarship funds to students.   The “A Royal Affair” event celebrates the organization’s achievements, honors its legacy, and sets the stage for a brighter future.

In addition to the luncheon, the Crown Awards ceremony will recognize outstanding individuals that have made remarkable contributions to education, community service, public service, economic development and demonstrated leadership.  Honorees for this year’s event include Terolyn Phinsee, Community Service Award, Dr. Zuri Murrell, President’s Award, Belinda Jackson, Public Service Award, Angela Gibson-Shaw, Economic Development Award and Lois Buckman, Regalettes Legacy Award.

“The Regalettes have been champions of education and community service for 65 years, and we are proud to honor these outstanding individuals and our own President, Lois Buckman,” said Shonte Penland-Abraham, Regalettes, Inc. Vice President. “We invite the community to join us in this grand celebration, support our scholarship initiatives, and celebrate the remarkable individuals who have made a significant impact in our community.”
