Hundreds Show Up For Community Toy Giveaway

With inflation having an impact on many family budgets, along with the basic day to day high cost of living, many people are in need of assistance this holiday season.

RAMO Youth Restoration Program held its annual Community Toy Giveaway to aid families in need this Christmas. The Giveaway was held Saturday, December 24th, Christmas Eve at Luv’d Ones Barber Shop in San Bernardino. Hundreds of families were lined up in anticipation of receiving a gift so their children would have something to open on Christmas Day.

This was the 20th annual Giveaway hosted by RAMO Youth Restoration Program and it gets bigger and better every year.

“We do this to help local families in need. We try to ensure that every young kid in the community has a present to open on Christmas Day,” said Omar Perkins, founder of RAMO Youth Restoration Program.

Perkins is a long-time community resident and former standout athlete that has made it his mission to assist the community where he grew up.

“I think if you’re in a position to give back you should give back,” said Perkins. “I’m a part of this community, I want us all succeed and feel appreciated.”

Other sponsors that played a key role included Bryon Russell and the B Russell Foundation along with Carlos Dew and the ROOTED IN COMMUNITY.
