In honor of Black History Month, the Southern California Black Chamber of Commerce, Inland Cities East will host its annual Black History Awards Luncheon and Fundraiser.

Themed “This Woman’s Work,” the luncheon is scheduled for Saturday, February 9, from 11:00am to 3:00pm. The luncheon will be held in the historic Rezek Pavilion Centre located at 2101 N. Waterman Ave., in San Bernardino, on the St. Bernardine Medical Center Campus.

The Southern California Black Chamber of Commerce, Inland Cities East along with Dignity Health will honor selected local African American Women Mayors with the “Dignity Spotlight Community Award.” Honorees include Rialto Mayor Deborah Robertson; Fontana Mayor Acquanetta Warren; Rancho Cucamonga Mayor Pro Tem Lynne Kennedy; and Gardena Mayor Tasha Cerda. Because of their leadership and tireless efforts in improving their cities, these women are the reason their cities are among the fastest growing cities in the region.

Two-time Grammy Award winning song writer Minister Terri McFadden-Solomon will deliver the keynote address. McFadden-Solomon has also authored four books and has written theme songs for both television and movies.

The SCBCC is a non-profit business organization with a mission to improve the economic environment for the minority business community while fostering business development and prosperity. The SCBCC also supports the Alzheimer’s Foundation which provides resources, training and support for individuals and families affected by the disease and YouthBuild Charter School of California, a free, project-based charter high school rooted in social justice and community action for students ages 16-24, who need to earn a high school diploma. YouthBuild’s main focus is providing opportunities to low income and marginalized students.

Entertaining the crowd during the event will be Mark Allen Felton. Felton, affectionately known as Panther, is an entertainer extraordinaire. Panther has graced the stage with a number of legendary artists including Patti LaBelle, Jeffrey Osbourne, Chaka Khan and the late Al Jarreau just to name a few. He also toured the world with Ray Parker, Jr for five years.
