The San Bernardino Valley Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, hosted its 48th Scholarship Breakfast Ball on May 9,in Ontario. The event welcomed more than 400 distinguished guests, including superintendents, city mayors, government officials, community leaders, and supporters from across the Inland Empire.

Chapter President, Michelle Webley stated, “We are incredibly proud of the success of 2026 Breakfast Ball. It was a beautiful reminder that when we lead with service and unity, we create lasting opportunities and a legacy that extends far beyond a single day.” The Breakfast Ball was more than an event; it was a movement. The energy in the room, the generosity of the supporters, and the brilliance of the scholars made it an unforgettable celebration of impact and legacy. The event was highlighted by the presence of California State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tony Thurman, as a special guest speaker.

Throughout the chapter’s history, more than $850,000 in scholarships has been awarded to over 400 students throughout the Inland Empire. Several longtime donors have supported the scholarship program, including Dr. Herb Fischer, a retired San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, and his wife, Dr. Cheryl Fischer, who established a $100,000 endowment to provide four annual scholarships to deserving Inland Empire students.

Each year, San Bernardino Valley Chapter members collectively provide more than 3,000 service hours that positively impact the communities they serve. As part of its community engagement efforts, the chapter collaborates with inspiring community partners and leaders. During the event, the chapter paid tribute to the remarkable Anthony Parnther, Music Director of the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra.

Continuing SBVC’s longstanding tradition, this year’s fundraiser celebrated academic excellence and resilience by awarding over $62,000 in scholarships to sixteen (16) outstanding high school seniors. Congratulations to the scholarship recipients and community leaders recognized during this year’s celebration.
