Leaders from law enforcement, academia, and civil rights organizations will convene at Pitzer College’s Benson Auditorium on March 22, for the third Inland Counties Anti-Hate Forum, an event dedicated to tackling hate-related incidents, fostering transparency, and strengthening trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

The forum is hosted in collaboration with Pitzer College’s Community Engagement Center (CEC), LULAC District 5, Inland Counties Civil Rights Coalition (CRIISC), Hispanic Coalition Small Business (HCSB), Family Assistance Program, Pomona Valley NAACP, Pomona Valley Pride and other community organizations.

This forum builds on the success of two previous impactful gatherings. The inaugural event was held at the Southern California Civil Rights Institute On June 1, 2024, followed by the forum at San Bernardino Valley College on September 21, 2024 . These events have brought together community leaders, law enforcement officials, and civil rights advocates to address pressing issues of discrimination, hate crimes, and public safety.

Key discussion topics will include the role of law enforcement in preventing hate crimes and improving accountability, strategies to bridge gaps between public safety officials and marginalized communities, insights from experts on hate and extremism trends affecting the Inland Empire, and community-driven solutions for promoting inclusivity and combating discrimination.

The forum will feature panelists such as Dr. Brian Levin from the Center for the Study of Hate & Extremism, Paul Kim from the LA County District Attorney’s Office, Detective Hodaya Doherty from the LA Sheriff’s Office, and representatives from Latino/Latina Roundtable, NAACP Pomona Valley, CHIRLA, and Pomona Valley Pride.

The event is open to the public and will include resource tabling, networking opportunities, and a catered reception. Seating is limited, and attendees are encouraged to RSVP via Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/western-inland-counties-anti-hate-forum-tickets-1253487056529?aff=oddtdtcreator
